Patagonia is a great place for off piste snowboarding during spring. This 8-day tour is your chance to ride on the powder snow of the fantastic Andes, under expert guidance!
I would like to invite you to join me for an 8-day off piste snowboarding trip around Bariloche (in Argentina) and Villarica (in Chile). We will ride at altitudes of between 2,000 and 3,000 meters high. You won’t need any acclimatization.
The adventure begins at Nahuel Huapi National Park, in Bariloche. This place is often compared to Switzerland because of its snowed peaks, large blue lakes and wonderful rainforests. I will take you to the best powder spots in Cerro Challhuaco.
First, we will spend some amazing days there. Then, we’ll cross the border to Chile and enjoy some volcano-snowboarding! We will explore the untracked terrain of Casablanca, Villarica and Osorno volcanos. Furthermore, there will also be time to relax in this trip. We’ll enjoy some hidden hot springs inside Villarica National Park, which are among the best in the world.
So, if you are up for this stunning off piste snowboarding experience in Argentina and Chile’s Patagonia, please contact me! Let me guide you to the best secrets of this fantastic area.
I also offer a splitboarding tour in Cerro San Lorenzo, check it out!
First, a 30 minutes transfer from the airport in Bariloche brings you to a nice Hosteria in Bariloche city center.
Then, you will meet me and check the gear needed for the trip. A dinner in a local beer brewery awaits you.
You’ll spend the night at Hosteria Las Marianas.
We experience the southern snow for the first time today!
First, a half hour drive brings us to Challhuaco valley where we will enjoy the view over the lakes and Bariloche city.
This is an easy snowboard tour to begin with, in Bariloche’s backcountry.
Here we will do some avalanche safety training to make sure that we are ready for this trip.
Overnight at Hosteria las Marianas.
We leave Bariloche and travel by car along the Nahuel Huapi Lake.
Then, passing the small Villa la Angostura we will reach the Samore-pass next to Puyehue volcano.
This pass offers some great snowboarding as it’s one of the places with most snowfall.
After the riding we cross the boarder to Chile and drive up to a small ski area named Antillanca.
Finally, we will spend the night in a wooden lodge.
Overnight at Antillanca hotel.
We will reach the top of our first volcano today, the Casablanca, which means ‘white house’.
Then, while riding we will we be able to see the magic volcano Osorno.
Finally, the Teski mountain lodge will be waiting for us with a delicious dinner and rest.
On our third day we will snowboard in the glaciated volcano Osorno. Amazing views of Puerto Montt and the pacific ocean.
Finally, we will drive down to the city of Osorno. Chilean seafood for dinner, and overnight in Hotel Lago del sur.
We deserve a relaxing bath in natural hot spring today!
These thermal pools are located in a privileged place called ‘Cajón negro’. This path was completely inaccessible before, up in a hill in the middle of native forest inside the Villarica National Park. It has 17 pools with temperatures ranging between 8 to 42C.
They are accessible by a beautiful 450 meters wooden walkway.
Then, we’ll have a nice ride towards Chile’s outdoor paradise, Pucon.
Overnight at Hotel Malalhue.
The highlight of the tour!
We leave Pucon behind us and drive into the Villarica National Park.
After 15 minutes we will reach the base of the small Pucon ski area. We will climb the 2,840 m high volcano Villarica today.
Great downhill runs.
Today we drive back to Bariloche, where we started our journey.
On our way we pass through the wonderful Lanin-National park. A typical Patagonian ‘asado’ (barbecue) will be waiting for us.
Then, we will spend the night at Hostería Las Marianas in Bariloche.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
