Description

On this packrafting and hiking weekend in the Ardennes, you will have the chance to enjoy a unique two-days in nature!

The first day, we will enjoy hiking in the forest and packrafting down the Ourthe River. On the way, we will stop at different towns. Then, in the evening, we will set up a bivouac and light a warming campfire under the stars. The next day, we will continue on our packrafting adventure until the early afternoon. You can find a detailed itinerary below.

Keep in mind that this is not a technically difficult excursion. Therefore, anyone with a good fitness level is welcome to join. Furthermore, our guides will make sure you are safe every step of the way as you enjoy the many benefits of spending time in such an amazing natural environment!

Price details

  • The price includes:
  • Supervision throughout the two days by a guide.
  • Loan of packrafting equipment, a backpack, a waterproof bag, and two-seater bivouac tents.
  • All the housekeeping and meals from Saturday midday to Sunday midday.
  • If you have any particular eating habits or intolerances, please let us know.
  • On request, we can lend you a life jacket.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

08h00 We meet on the site of our bivouac in Marcourt, rue du Vieux Moulin. We find ourselves at the end of the cul-de-sac.

8:30 am We leave a few cars and carpool to the village of Nadrin.

9:30 am Departure, it’s time to set off through the Ardennes forest. We will hike for a good hour to reach the western Ourthe.

10:30 am We will inflate the boats, with the advice of your tour guide.

We embark downstream from the Nisramont dam and descend in a packraft to the village of Maboge. We cross the magnificent valley of Hérou and Cheslin.

1:00 p.m. We arrive at Maboge and enjoy a riverside sandwich.

13:30 We leave for a very nice hike to the village of Marcourt.

6:00 p.m. Arrival in Marcourt where we set up our bivouac and our campfire.

Day 2: Departure

09h00 Departure in the packraft from Marcourt to  Rendeux .

11h00 We stop and set off on a hike to reach the St Thibault chapel which offers a magnificent view over the Ourthe valley.

1:00 p.m. Arrival at the St Thibault chapel and picnic with stunning views.

2:00 p.m. We leave for our bivouac area.

3:00 p.m. Arrival in Marcourt where our 2-day packrafting adventure ends.

It's not compulsory to wear it, but if you would like to have a PFD (Personal Flotation Device / Life Jacket) I can provide you with one.

Equipment you will need to bring

Packrafting equipment, a backpack, a waterproof bag, and two-seater bivouac tents will be provided. In order to enjoy your adventure to the fullest, we also suggest you bring your own: - Walking shoes. - A good sleeping bag, an air mattress, a small blanket. - A flashlight. - Clothing adapted to the weather conditions. It's not compulsory to wear it, but if you would like to have a PFD (Personal Flotation Device / Life Jacket) I can provide you with one.

Magnifique découverte du pack-raft lors d'un we ; c'était génial d'alterner balade (rando accessible à tous selon moi) et se laisser glisser sur l'eau dans un pack-raft. Le groupe avec lequel je suis partie était très sympa, de chouettes rencontres et une toute bonne ambiance, notamment pour partager le barbecue du samedi soir. Expérience à recommander :-) super organisation
