Vysoka is one of the highest peaks in the Tatra Mountains, Slovakia. With a height of 2547 meters, it offers great views that we can enjoy once we have reached the top by its normal route.
For that we will start from Lake Popradske. We will walk through the beautiful Zlomiská valley to the Dračí sedlo. After ascending and reaching the summit of Vysoka, we will find a steel cross that represents our success!
From up there we can admire the small north valley and the western part of the High Tatras. A really beautiful setting! Finally, the descent will be done through Kohútik towards Chata pod Rysmi, a legendary hut visited by thousands of mountaineers every year.
Although technically less demanding than other mountains in Slovakia (such as Lomnicky) this expedition requires excellent physical condition. The total elevation will be 1100 meters and the duration will be around 10 hours.
So be ready for a great challenge in High Tatras in a safe way with the company of a local certified guide. I’ll be waiting for your contact!

Mountain Guide
I was born in Poprad and I live, work and relax in the High Tatras. I have been climbing in this region for 15 years both in summer and winter.
Since 2001 I am a professional rescuer with a completed Bachelor education in Urgent Medical Care. Furthermore, I work in The Experts Mountain Rescue Service (in High Tatras) as an avalanche specialist.
In 2009, after passing the entrance examination for mountain guiding, I started the roundabout course. In April 2010, I became a mountain guide aspirant in the National Association of Mountain Guides of the Slovak Republic.
In 2011, during the final course in Chamonix - Mont Blanc (France) I successfully completed the course of mountain guide during four days of tests, under the strict supervision of Technical Commission NAHVSR instructors. Since then, I am a mountain guide with the IFMGA / UIAGM international license.
Thanks to this job (and hobby) I am pleased to expand the horizons of my clients and share with them my knowledge and experience as a mountain guide.

We spent 2 days with Pavol as he introduced us to ice climbing. Upon meeting him, we were pleased with his professionalism and his impressive experiences climbing around the world. It didn't take long for us to realise his expertise on the mountain, as well as his passion and down to earth attitude. Over 2 days, in 2 different locations, we got learn the basics of ice climbing on some serious ice falls. He gave us advice on techniques and strategies to get us climbing higher and more efficiently. The whole time Pavol made us feel very safe and in control, as daunting as ice climbing may be. In the end we had a great time and learnt a lot, and he left us hungry for more. He definitely showed us this is a sport and passion we can keep following. We hope to climb with Pavol again next time we visit Europe.
