Alps
7 Days
Jan - Apr, Dec
Despite the well known nearby ski resorts like Val D’isère, Val Thorens, La Grave or Sestrières in Italy, Maurienne valley remains an unknown ski destination. A secret spot in the heart of the French Alps.
The valley of Maurienne consist of seven different ski resorts which gives you great opportunities for skiing and possibilities to find the very best snow. The villages in this valley are built up through time and they all have their own genuine character. So if you want to visit a valley that has not yet being invaded by the mass tourism, where the itineraries for good skiing are almost unlimited and where the off piste concurrence is close to nothing, then book your next ski trip with me!
Quality and variation
There are seven very different resorts along 50 km (map) that together offers a great variation of terrain, altitude, orientation and steepness. There are high alpine glaciers in Bonneval, forest skiing in Val Cenis, North facing slopes in Termignon and south facing slopes in Aussois. The Maurienne valley also connects with Val Thorens and the 3 Vallées and is not far from Sestrière in Italy. This variation gives almost endless opportunities for finding good conditions and powder snow!
Peacefulness
In this valley you find more families enjoying groomers than powder addicts. You can take it easy when the snow is dumping down. No stress, there will be powder lying untouched close to the lifts for several days.
Originality
The ski resorts have grown here at a different pace than the big famous neighbors, and they are still small mountains villages with originality, charm and their proper life outside skiing tourism. But of course you will find all you need when it comes to ski shops, bars, restaurants, after ski and very efficient and modern ski lifts.
