  • Discover charming villages like Pinchollo
  • Learn about the local culture

Description

The Hualca Hualca (6,025 m) is a snow capped extinct volcano near the city of Arequipa. So join me on this 2-day expedition to discover this magnificent place in the Peruvian Andes.

On our first day we will depart from Arequipa towards the village of Pinchollo. From there, we will jump on a 4×4 vehicle and head towards the Infiernillo geyser. Once we reach Infiernillo, with the help of porters and mules, we’ll trek to Base Camp, where we will set for the night.

Then, on day two we will start the ascent early in the morning. We will hike for about 6 hours until we reach the summit of Hualca Hualca. Upon completion, we’ll descend for about 3 or 4 hours to Base Camp. Once we get there, we’ll pack up our gear, and head back to Pinchollo. In Pinchollo, there will be a vehicle ready to take us back to Arequipa. Or, depending on the time, and the energy of the group, we could stop at other spots for some sightseeing.

This is an amazing opportunity for those looking to prepare for higher ascents. It is also the perfect way to acclimatize as there are many other mountains in the area we can tackle. Plus, we’ll get the opportunity to meet many locals and learn about their culture. What’s more, I will make sure we follow all the rules necessary to ensure your safety, while having a great time.

If you want to join this adventure, just send me a request. It will be my pleasure to guide you to the summit of Hualca Hualca.
