Multi-pitch rock climbing course on Donner Summit, Lake Tahoe

The region of Donner Summit, Lake Tahoe, is a truly spectacular locale for rock climbing, and I will guide you on this half-day course of multi-pitch rock climbing around the area, where you will learn the basic skills and techniques to enhance your rock climbing enjoyment and capabilities, and to take in and admire the beautiful scenery around us.

Nestled within the world-famous and extremely popular Lake Tahoe region, which straddles the California/Nevada border, Donner Summit provides ample rock climbing surfaces such as boulders and rock faces, as well as some absolutely sensational views and scenery, with picture-perfect forests leading down to the magnificent Donner Lake.

We meet in the morning to go over safety and gear information before we head off to our rock climbing locations.

Over the course of the day we will be teaching you all about multi-pitch rock climbing, with skills such as gear placement and removal, anchor building and removal and belaying a lead climber all being covered and put in to practice.

There will of course be plenty of time to admire and take in our beautiful surroundings, as the tranquil, idyllic and peaceful countryside is a truly awe-inspiring place, and you will be sure to want to take many photos of the views over to Donner Lake.

At the end of the course you will have learnt more multi-pitch rock climbing skills that will give you the confidence to tackle more challenging climbs and to come back to the marvelous Lake Tahoe area.
