A trip for adventurers is the best way to define this 3-day expedition up the enormous Mount Shasta, which stands at an altitude of 14,179 ft (4,322 m). Residing in the vast Cascades mountain range in California, this potentially active volcano is amazing to behold. However, on this trip, you will do more than just admire it. Instead, you will have the chance to climb to its summit, and ski back down!
Each day of this amazing expedition will build on the last, culminating with the Shasta summit. We will camp during the night and gaze at the amazing open night sky.
The first day of the trip will focus primarily on skiing, as we will set up a ski camp near Mount Shasta’s base camp, where there are single runs of up to 2000 metres.
On the second day, you will get to enjoy some descents down Shastina, Shasta’s sub-peak. Afterwards, we will spend some time practising with crampons and an ice axe before making our way to the summit of Mount Shasta on the trip’s final day. And when we reach the summit, you will have time to take in the view before you enjoy a long and thrilling ski descent back down to the camp!
While previous mountain climbing experience is not necessary on this trip, downhill skiing experience and previous backpacking experience is recommended. Furthermore, participants of this trip should also be in good physical condition because this adventure can be taxing at times.
Mount Shasta is an amazing peak. And on this 3-day adventure, you will get to enjoy climbing to the top of it and skiing back down. If that sounds like the kind of trip you want to be a part of, all you have to do is send us a request.
