Mountaineering course in Chamonix with a guide

Come and learn mountaineering with me for a day or two in Chamonix. We will have some rock and ice climbing sessions. We can also plan the ascent of an easy peak, Aiguille du Tour for example. My objective will be to teach you the basics so you can consider mountain ascents in the future.

It is important to progress safely. Learning basic techniques is essential before embarking on a mountaineering tour.

Safety manoeuvres, handling a rope, belaying, walking with crampons and ice axe, familiarization with the emptiness feeling… These are different topics that we will cover together. Everything will be done in an idyllic setting, the Mont Blanc range.

The time you will spend learning all of this will be a guarantee of safety and pleasure during your future mountain ascents.

This experience is a must!

In the mountain there are two universes that require different skills: snow/ice and rock.

Depending on the final goal, we can focus on one of these topics during the course. But it's also possible to try both to get an ideal of which is more appealing.

If we are in Chamonix, ice course will be at the Mer de Glace. The rock course will be on a cliff, at les Gaillands for example.

This course is for beginners or people looking to improve their mountaineering techniques.

I can take with me up to 6 people. I avoid larger groups because I prefer to spend more time with each participant. If you are more than 6, I will ask a friend guide to join us.
