Looking for a mountaineering program to improve your skills? Then you’ve come to the right place. Follow me on this 1-week intensive course and enjoy learning and practicing in Chamonix.
During this course, we’ll go over essential mountaineering topics, such as knots, use of the equipment, glacier travel and crevasse rescue. Also, I’ll teach you everything that you need to know about anchors in snow and ice as well as rope manipulation. In addition, by the end of the program, you’ll have developed basic leading and multi-pitch skills in steep terrain and have more knowledge about route planning.
Our meeting point will be around Chamonix and Argentière. I’ll tell you the precise location a few days before the activity. Take a look below for a detailed description of each day’s activity.
Please, keep in mind that it’s mandatory to have prior mountaineering experience in rock and ice as well as a very good level of fitness. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you!
So, does this course sound interesting to you? Then get in touch with me by sending your request to book your place. After this program, you’ll love mountaineering even more!
Are you looking for more advanced programs? Take a look at the stage II and stage III programs for this activity!
We’ll meet in Chamonix or Argentière at 5 pm and have a trip briefing.
On these days, we’ll focus on our rock abilities.
In the surrounding huts, I’ll teach you about walking on ice and snow, the use of an ice axe, belaying techniques, rappelling and steep ice climbing.
On day 6, we’ll go for an ascent to Aiguille du Tour (3,540 meters) or Petite Fourche (3,429 meters). Once there, we’ll put into practice what we’ve learned. The climb will have a duration of 5 hours with an elevation gain of 1,000 meters.
We’ll take a cable car and climb a ridge in the French or the Italian side. Then, we’ll descend and finish the course.

Mountain Guide
I am in the mountains all year-round, either guiding a trip or exploring on my own. Mountain guiding is not only my profession and passion but also my inner calling. I am a qualified IFMGA mountain and ski guide.
In 2012, I established my mountaineering school "Mountains" with the motto: Quality guiding on snow, rock and ice. You can count on a low client to guide ratio, reliable gear and high quality programs led by our talented team of guides. We are not adrenaline junkies - we put safety first and strive to meet and exceed all of our clients' needs.
We take great pride in having more than 30% returning clients and would be thrilled to welcome you to our "Mountains" family during your next rock, snow or ice adventure!

Thank you! It was really fantastic! I learned a lot and will keep at it - I have to say that ice, especially mixed and dry, is almost more fun than rock. Thank you for the super week and the great hotel! See you soon!
Tal and Dave,Thank you both on a terrific week in Chamonix! I had a great time and really feel now that I learnt a lot from you during this time! Climb save and see you next year :)
Hi Tal, I had a wonderful trip -- thank you so much for being such an excellent guide! Definitely want to do it again. Frankly, not sure why I bothered to fly home at all...... Really really want to go back :) Best, Amber
