Mount Toubkal: amazing trekking traverse

Mount Toubkal, near the Mount Mgoun in the High Atlas Moroccan mountains, is one of the best places for the hiking practice in Europe, outside The Alps.

During summertime, Mount Toubkal offers an excellent trekking option with the addition of a different cultural and culinary experience. They will be 4 or 5 days of hiking among the beautiful landscapes of Morocco. As your guide, I can guarantee the following services:

Mount Toubkal will surprise you. You will find many different trails in the system of surrounding valleys. The itinerary I am proposing consists in a 3-day hike in at least two of those valleys. But, in case you are interested in getting to Mount Toukbal summit I suggest to extend the trip 2 more days in order to be well acclimatized.

Here you can see the details of each day. It’s just an estimate program. Remember I can plan a customized trip adapted to your own wishes.

DAY 1

A taxi or minibus will take us from Marrakech to Imlil where we will start the trekking trail at 1.740 meters. It will be a 4-to-7-hike in The Tacheddirt Valley.

DAY 2

Today we will walk from the mountain pass of Tizi n’Tamatert to the valley of Mizane. After 7 or 8 hours, we will be finally in the hut of Toubkal at 3.200 meters of height.

DAY 3

Time to climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal! We will reach to 4.167 meters high and it will take about 6-7 hours.

DAY 4

We will take the Tadat Col o Aguelzim Pass and walk across the Bou Idaren Valley until we arrive to Tamsoult Hut.

DAY 5

Last day! We will enjoy a lunch in Imlil after an amazing traverse in the pass of Tizi Mzzik at 2.450 meters.
