The stunning Mount Superior in the Wasatch range is perfect for alpine climbing both in summer in winter. With just a few techniques you can tackle some thrilling steep winter climbing and enjoy the south ridge of this peak. On this one-day Mount Superior winter alpine climb, we will cover all the necessary skills you need to tackle this challenging Utah stunner!
To begin our excursion, we will head to Suicide Chute which is a rocky snow-capped 40-degree couloir. Despite its scary name, with the proper technique, we will be able to tackle this ascent without any problems. We will use crampons and ice axes. We will also be roped when we climb along the exposed crest of the ridge and will use slings, stoppers, and cams to ensure safety. Belaying, short-pitching and short-roping will also be techniques the guide will work with before descending on the East Ridge to Alta via Cardiff Pass.
Because this is a challenging excursion, we will need to begin early. Probably, we will start between 5 and 7 am and be back between 3 to 6pm. Also, you will need previous climbing and crampon experience. Additionally, you will need a good fitness level. In order to ensure maximum safety, we will have a 2:1 guide ratio. This means you will have a very personalized tour of Mount Superior.
Would you like to tackle a unique winter alpine climbing challenge? Then book your place now and join me on this one-day winter ascent of Mount Superior in Utah!
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS TRIP IS ONLY PROPOSED ON THE DATES LISTED BELOW.
We also offer summer alpine climbing excursions. Find more information here.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.ments needed. As simple as can be!
Easy to set up and find the perfect trip. Informative site that is easy to use. Guides are all great to work with and communicate all arrangements needed. As simple as can be!
I was looking for a local guide for a hike I was planning and came across Explore-Share. They seemed to have good reviews and so decided to give them a try. The experience was very positive and completely happy with their service. I will be using them again for next trip.
I am very pleased with Explore-Share! This was my first international climb, and the communication and response time were great. Herbie is a very skilled guide and very efficient. The entire booking process & payment was smooth. I will definitely use Explore-Share again. Thank you.
I’m extremely happy with the ease with which I could book via your site reliable and experienced guide. Thank you so very much, and I’ve started to recommend your site to my friends.
