Description

Mount Shasta is a volcano situated in the south of the Cascade Range, in California. With an elevation of 4,321m, it is the second-highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth-highest in the state. On this 2-day guided ascent we will reach its summit via its most popular route: Avalanche Gulch.

There are no official trails to the summit of Mount Shasta. However, the Avalanche Gulch route is the easiest way to reach it. This two-day guided trip involves ice climbing and safety instructions. Our tour is open to all the intermediate mountaineers in good physical condition who want to improve their skills and ascend Mount Shasta.

Mount Shasta has several glaciers, specially on the north and east sides. Hotlum is the most voluminous in the state of California, and Whitney is the longest.

The area is also surrounded by  hundreds of lakes and more than 6,000 miles of streams and rivers. While climbing this mountain, you will enjoy views of a beautiful natural landscape.

So, if you wish to climb the imposing and wonderful Mount Shasta, please contact us! We will be glad to guide you in this demanding ascent to its summit!

This trip will be operated by one of the 3 permit holder outfitters: Shasta Mountain Guides, Alpine Skills International and SWS Mountain Guides.
