Description
This trip takes you to Mytikas (2918m), the highest summit on the Olympus massif in just 1-day. It is specially designed for those that may lack the time to carry out the traditional 2-day trip with an overnight stay in a refuge and is also an ‘easier’ experience to the summit.
This trip involves the use of a 4x4 vehicle, which will take us through a dirt road high up to Chrystakis emergency refuge at an elevation of 2550m. From the refuge, we will start our hike on an easy trail, which will take us in approximately 1 hour to the summits of Skolio and Skala. Once we arrive at Skala peak (2875m), we will put on our gear to tackle the final stretch of our ascent to Mytikas (2918m) (1h – 1.5h). Skala peak is the starting point of the popular Kakoskala trail (one of the two available routes to the summit). After enjoying the view from the summit, we will return via the same route.
Keep in mind that although this tour welcomes mountain climbing beginners, and that we will follow a relatively easy route to the Mytikas summit, you should have an average fitness level and be capable to trek/walk for 3-4 hours without any problems. Furthermore, you should not be afraid of heights, or have any other known health problems (particularly related to the myoskeletal system).

- Please note that the price does not include the transportation on the 4x4 vehicle.
- The price is 150 euros flat (1person=150euros 2persons=75euros p/p, 3persons=50euros p/p, 4 persons 40euros p/p) (paid to the driver or the guide) and includes the trip from Litochoro up to Chrystakis refuge and back. Total duration 2 to 3 hours each way.
Itinerary
Day 1: Litochoro-Mytikas-Litochoro
6.30-7.00 am - We meet in Litochoro's central square. 9.30- 10.00 am - We arrive at Chrystakis refuge. We gear up and our trip starts. 11.30-12.30 am - We enjoy the view from Greece's highest peak, Mytikas (2918m). We spend enough time resting and taking photos. 12.30-13.00 pm - We head back via the same route to our car. 15.00-15.30 pm - We arrive at Chrystakis refuge where we embark on our vehicle and head back to Litochoro 17.30-18.30 pm -Arrive in Litochoro

For this tour, a big part of the climb is achieved by a 4X4 vehicle, so the overall physical effort required from participants is kept at low level.
