Description

The eighth highest mountain on Earth, Manaslu (8,156m) is an absolute wonder. Truly majestic, scaling this incredible peak is an unforgettable experience.

For 52 days, you will get to enjoy an enthralling experience that will culminate with you reaching the summit of Mount Manaslu.

Beginning in the amazing capital city of Kathmandu, which you will get a few days to explore both at the beginning and end of the expedition, our adventure will take you to a number of beautiful villages. From Arughat Bazar and Jagat to Filim and Lo and many more, you will see what makes Nepal such a special place. Not only will you get to see the natural glory of the region, from rivers, meadows, forests and valleys, but you will get to meet the people. And will get to enjoy the food and the wonderful Tibetan influenced culture of the area.

Once we reach the base camp of Manaslu, the climbing will begin. For approximately 28 days, we will ascend and descend the incredible peak. And as a result of the generous amount of time, you will get plenty of opportunity to get properly acclimatized. Hence preventing you from suffering altitude sickness. You will also get plenty of time to enjoy the magical views of the Himalayas from the various camp sites. And from the summit, you will get to gaze at what will feel like the entire world!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrivial in Kathmandu

After your arrival at the Kathmandu international airport, a GuideSource guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. After a brief meeting about the trip to come, you will get to explore Kathmandu at your leisure.

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing

Throughout the day, you will get to explore the city of Kathmandu and gaze at its many highlights including the Pashupati Nath and Swayambhu Nath temples, before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Arughat Bazar

We will drive for approximately 7 hours from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazar. We will travel along the Kathmandu – Pokhara highway, stopping at Gorkha, before making our way Arughat Bazar, where we will camp for the night.

Day 4: Soti Khola (810m)

We will hike from Arughat Bazar to Soti Khola, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will pass the stone hamlet of Kokethar and Kyoropani.

Day 5: Machha Khola (930m)

We will trek from Soti Khola to Maccha Khola, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will pass farmed fields, rice paddies and white sand shores.

Day 6: Jagat (1,350m)

We will trek from Machha Khola to the small village of Jagat, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will cross a suspension bridge, pass through a forest and Doban Khola.

Day 7: Filim (1,590m)

We will trek from Jagat to Filim, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will cross the Pangour Khola and pass through Saguleri before reaching Filim.

Day 8: Deng

We will trek from Filim to Deng, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will ascend along the Buri Gandaki and cross a suspension bridge before reaching Deng.

Day 9: Namru (2,630m)

We will trek from Deng to Namru, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will use a wooden bridge to cross to the right bank of the Buri Gandaki, pass through farmed fields, and cross another wooden bridge before ascending through a forest and reaching Namru.

Day 10: Village of Lo (3,150m)

We will trek from Namru to the village of Lo, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will pass through a meadow and enter the village of Bengsam, where you will finally get to see Manaslu. We will then continue through the Kanni until we reach Lo.

Day 11: Sama Gaun (3,500m)

We will trek from the village of Lo to Sama Gaun, where we will camp for the night. During the trek, we will descend into the Damonan Khola valley. We will then cross a stream on a wooden bridge and continue through a meadow where Yaks often graze before reaching Sama Gaun.

Day 12: Rest Day in Sama Gaun

During this rest day, which will be for acclimatization, you can venture to Sama Gompa, which is approximately 20 minutes away, and enjoy some amazing views of Manaslu.

Day 13 to 41: Manaslu climbing period

Day 42: Base Camp clean-up

Day 43: Sama Gaun

Day 44: Nyak

Day 45: Jagat

Day 46: Machha Khola

Day 47: Arket

Day 48: Gorkha

Day 49: Drive to Kathmandu

Day 50: Rest day in Kathmandu

Day 51: Extra day in Kathmandu

You can spend the day exploring Kathmandu, before enjoying a farewell dinner and going to bed in your hotel.

Day 52: Departure home

A GuideSource guide will transfer you to the airport, where you can catch your flight home.
