With an experience as exhilarating as scaling the beautiful Mount Hood peak (3,429m), the only thing that could make it better is to make the experience even longer. And on this trip, that is exactly what we will be doing. By adding in a night in the wonderful Silcox hut (2,118m) you will get to spend 2 full days on the peak. Hence giving you the chance to enjoy the amazing views it provides day and night and day again.
The first half of the trip will see us climbing up to the Silcox hut, which rests just under 1,300 metres from Mount Hood’s summit. When we reach the hut in the late afternoon, you will be able to enjoy all of its fantastic amenities, while acclimatizing to the altitude. Those amenities include a large fire place resting in a large, comfortable room that features several windows that let you gaze at the summit above. There are also three restrooms, with one shower, along with six rooms with comfortable beds to sleep in. Finally, there is delicious food served year round in the Silcox hut, featuring everything from meat and vegetable lasagna in the evening to pastries and tea in the morning.
On the following day, we will wake up, eat breakfast, and make our way to the Mount Hood summit, where you will get to enjoy some unforgettable views. Afterwards, we will make our way back down the peak.
If you don’t just want to scale Mount Hood, but wish to spend some time on it, allowing you to appreciate and take in its beauty and unique atmosphere, then this 2 day adventure is for you. All you have to do to be a part of this great trip is send us a request and we’ll happily guide you.
