Description

Mount Everest (8,848m) is the king of all the world's mountains. And on this incredible expedition, I want to guide you to its summit, a place that so many dream of, but so few actually experience.

There are 2 different routes to reach Everest's summit: the Nepal side and the Tibet side. On this trip, we will be climbing on the Nepal side. Because Everest is the world's greatest mountain, climbing it can easily be considered the world's greatest challenge. Thus why this trip is only for people in peak physical condition, with extensive climbing experience.

There is no standard itinerary for this trip because there is nothing standard about Everest. However, I can provide you with a general guideline.

The adventure will begin in Kathmandu, where you will have a few days to explore the city, while we prepare for the trip to come. From Kathmandu we will fly to Lukla. After that we will trek to several places including Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, Pangboche, Dingboche, Chukhung, Lobuche, Gorak, and Shep before reaching the famous Everest base camp.

After base camp there will be plenty of rest days, training days in places like the Khumbu ice fall, and ascents and descents for acclimatization purposes. And when the team is ready, we will make our final ascent to the summit. Afterwards, we will descend the mountain and make our way back to Lukla, where we will fly back to Kathmandu, and you will head home.

If you have ever dreamed about reaching the top of Everest then this is the trip where you can do it. If you want to join me on this once in a lifetime adventure, please send me a message.

And if you want to join me on another amazing climbing adventure in Nepal, I can also guide you to the summit of Mount Manaslu (8,163m) on this expedition.

FAQs

Is there Internet connection in the base camp (EBC)? And in the other camps?

There's Internet available to purchase in EBC. Above EBC there is no internet connection but there will be satellite phone and walki-talki for the communication.

Are tents shared in EBC and higher camps?

On EBC you will have your single tent. Above EBC you will besharing tent with at least 2 or sometimes more climbers, depending on the situation.

Can tips be paid in US dollars, Euros, or only local currency?

Tips and summit bonus can be paid in local currency, euros or USD, but if you have USD or euros it's less paper to carry.

Are there bathroom tents above EBC? How does it work?

There will be toilet tent in C2 above EBC but on the rest of the high camps there is not, and it's mandatory to carry a poop bag and dispose it once back at EBC.

How many O2 tanks does one need to carry on summit day?

On summit day the clients will take 1 O2 tank, and the Guide will carry 2 more tanks. Each tank weights about 5 KG and has a 4 litter capacity.

You provide a duffel bag which carries most of my things to EBC -- is there a limit of weight for this?

We provide 2 duffel bags: One duffel bag is sent directly to EBC with climbing gear, and the other is carried with you along the trek with only light weigh. There's no weight limit.

For summit day, how much traffic can one expect either at the Yellow Band or further up at the Hillary Step? Can this traffic be a serious problem for summiting?

For the summit day we don’t worry so much about traffic because the guide and the client are roped together. So if there are slower parties ahead of us we can pass through with guide rope safety.

I have been climbing since 1996, starting on the 8000m mountains in the Himalaya. I'm one of the few IFMGA/NNMGA certified mountain guides (Instructor) from south Asia, gaining my qualification from the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association (NZMGA) & Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA).

I have have also a strong international climbing experience and extensive knowledge of the logistics, planning and group dynamic that are also very crucial to successfully lead adventures in the Himalaya and around the world. I guided in New Zealand, Norway, France, Scotland, Thailand, Bhutan, Pakistan, India and Tibet. I'm also a rescue expert and a technical trainer for the mountain guides training.

I very much like guiding my clients in remote places, where no tourist goes. I like also discovering new routes and peaks. Please have a look to the different trekking and mountaineering expeditions I propose and contact me if you want to discuss about them. Great 6a and 6c climbing at the crag at Hattiban!

Very helpful of explore share to reroute my trip to other guide. Very happy with Tshering Bhote guides! Only thing is we pushed to fast to summit. I think that was the reason we did not make it.
