Description

Towering above the Italian and Swiss border, a Monte Rosa climbing adventure is the perfect way to spend a summer weekend!

Composed of five major summits, the tallest of which reaches 4,634 meters (15,203 feet) in elevation, our target will be to climb one of these stunning peaks – Punta Gnifetti (4,554 meters/14,941 feet) – and another minor summit, Punta Parrot (4,432 meters/14,541 feet).

The adventure begins from the idyllic village of Staffal, just south of the mountain. After taking the cable car up onto its slopes first thing in the morning, we will climb up to the famed Margarita Hut.

From the highest mountain hut in Europe, we will continue on to the summit of Punta Gnifetti, enjoying phenomenal views of the rest of the massif and surrounding mountain peaks.

From Punta Gnifetti, we will continue climbing down a saddle and up another mountain flank to the summit of Punta Parrot. After enjoying even more phenomenal views here, we will head to the Mantova hut and spend the night.

The following day will be spent descending back down to Staffal and saying our goodbyes.
