Highlights

  • An accessible climb for sporty, fit people, that is challenging but not technical.
  • Amazing views of several 4000m peaks in the Alps.
  • Good training for more challenging ascents such as Mont Blanc.

Description

This exciting 2-day climb will take you to the top of Punta Gnifetti, where the famous Margherita Hut is located at an altitude of 4,554 meters (14,941 ft). Plus, on the way, we can explore some of the other 4000-meter peaks that Monte Rosa is famous for!

We will start our tour from Gressoney, and from there, we will access one of the intermediate huts in the Monte Rosa massif. The following day, after an early breakfast, we will set off to the Gniffeti summit, and explore other 4000m peaks on the way. Reaching the Margherita Hut will be our ultimate goal, and we will enjoy the scenic views from this emblematic hut, which is the highest building in Europe. Then, we will return to Gressoney.

Keep in mind that Monte Rosa is an excellent massif to explore if you are fit but don't have much mountaineering experience. It offers just the right amount of challenge and altitude, especially if you are aiming for more challenging goals in the future. Therefore, all you need is to have a good fitness level and a sense of adventure. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you on the way.

Mountain Guide

Since I was a boy I always had a desire to climb, following paved and unpaved roads to reach a peak. My bike took me around the world, exploring remote corners of the Earth. There is a special combination of solitude and beauty that lies in a desert road laid out under two wheels. I started my career as a cyclist, but also in my heart were the mountains and a good dose of self-challenge, with activities like triathlons and ultra distance mountain running.

After a Masters degree in Forestry Science and few assignements around Europe as Lab Manager, I realised that my love for the mountains, outdoors, and the desire to share this world with other people was too strong to be restricted only to the weekends.

Becoming a Mountain Guide was my answer! Living by the outdoors and sharing my passion for adventure. In life we are all faced with tough choices. The decision to train as a guide, to share my knowledge about mountains and help people safely achieve their dreams is reinforced each day with the experience I share with my clients.

We are each unique, in our dreams, experience and ambitions. Every season brings a new opportunity for adventure! Ski touring, freeride skiing or iceclimbing in winter; then, as the snow melts we go to the mountains for mountaineering, rock climbing, hiking and trail running.

Tell me about your ambitions, whether it is a one day, one peak, one face or couloir to a multi-day expedition. I offer customized programs tailored for each of my clients.

Let’s go for an adventure!

What people are saying about Federico

Bryan

Fantastic trip, Fede is an exceptional guide who I hope to do more adventures with, friendly, inspiring and supportive (he helped me with some travel advice as Mont Blanc tunnel closure nearly cost me the trip). I would thoroughly recommend this trip for anyone who enjoys tough and immensely rewarding challenges in the Mountains. You definitely need a high level of mountain fitness. Mountain running experience will certainly help and an enjoyment in up and down summit pursuits compared to multi day ascents.

Things you can’t control - the weather Things you can control - hiring the best guide in the Aosta valley who can come up with plans and alternatives to allow you to still have a really brilliant time in the mountains I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Federico to anyone after a trip in June 2024. He’s a really reassuring presence and great company too

Catia

We were very lucky to go on an amazing skitour to Gran Paradiso with Federico. He was an incredible guide, friendly, frank and honest. He put us at ease and was extremely flexible. We're very grateful to him and won't hesitate to call on him again for another trip! Thanks a lot!

Antoine

Super ski touring trip around aosta with 2 x 4000m in 2 days (Gran Paradiso + Monte Rosa). Fede is a really nice guy and guided us wonderfully. He is also very aware of avalanche risks so we had to modify our plans to go to Monte Rosa instead of Valgrisenche because it was too hot and too exposed. Would definitly recommend this guide and this trip :)
