Description

Situated in the French commune of Valdeblore, Mont Petoumier has an altitude of 2,604 meters and belongs to the Alpes Maritimes. This mountain offers fantastic views from the top and it’s a very popular peak in the Mercantour National Park. Follow me on this 1-day program and explore this area with your snowshoes on.

The itinerary will be tailored to suit your needs. I can also lead you across other peaks in the area, such as Baus del Frema (2,246 meters) and Tête du Brec (2,566 meters). All of them offer incredible surrounding views. You’ll decide which one you would like to discover.

During the hike, we’ll enjoy snowshoeing in large snow-covered slopes that will lead us to the mountains. Once at the top, we’ll delight ourselves with the views of Cime du Gélas and Monte Argentera, two of the most impressive peaks in the region, among others. In addition, we’ll contemplate amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea and Corsica.

As for the level, keep in mind that we’ll face an elevation gain of 800 meters, so it’s important to be physically fit. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you.

I booked a tour with Fabrice on late May, definitely the highlight of my holiday, we went on a hike around Casterino It was a relaxed hike with great sights of mountain forests and lakes, I got to see some of the local fauna and flora of the park, ibex, marmots, chamois, although not as much as they would be in the area, possibly because of the wolfs (we saw some footprints). Overall it is a great way to see the surroundings. I would definitely recommend Fabrice as a guide for your next hike!
