The Pyrenees is a like a puzzle with hundreds of pieces. And on this 5 day trip, one of those great pieces you will to see and hike around is Mont Perdu (3,355m), which is located in the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park.
Anybody who has ever visited the Pyrenees knows how magnificent they are to behold. And for anybody who has never had the chance to see it, this wonderful collection of peaks and valleys, canyons and lakes, is a true wonder in the world. And since this trip lasts several days, you will not just be seeing Mont Perdu either. Instead, you will also get to see the Ordesa canyon as well. This amazing canyon is enormous, and is filled with several precipices, plateaus, ravines and some glorious views of the surrounding landscape. It seems like it goes on forever, and the silence that blows through it is as peaceful as it is stunning.
While Mont Perdu is the centre piece of this wonderful trip, what makes this very accessible 5 day adventure so special is that it is not the only piece. You will get to see so much more, and I know most of what you will see you will not soon forget. So send me a request, and join me on this great journey.
I also lead a 1 day rock climbing trip in the French Pyrenees as well.
Arrival at the Bujaruelo Mountain Hut, where we will welcome you, introduce ourselves and have an explanatory talk. At this meeting point we will give you the welcome pack, we will see the details of the route, the conditions of the mountain, and we will teach you how to use the geolocator safety device that you will have at your disposal during the whole itinerary. Here you will be able to solve any last minute doubts you may have. And from here begins the fantastic adventure that will take us through some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Pyrenees. All this enlivened with a welcome snack.
From Bujaruelo Mountain Hut to Góriz Mountain Hut. From Bujaruelo we cross the Roman bridge and ascend following the red and white markings that indicate the GR 11 as far as the Puerto de Bujaruelo pass. Here we follow the sign that leads us to the Mountain Hut de la Brecha de Rolando. Once in the Brecha we descend towards the Collado del Descargador through the Paso de los Sarrios. Here we will find the first technical step of the route with some chains that help us in its progression. There is an alternative path from the Brecha itself to avoid this pass. From the Collado del Descargador we continue towards the plain to reach the Góriz Mountain Hut.
From Góriz Mountain Hut to Pineta Mountain Hut. We leave Góriz following the GR 11 markings that gradually climb to the Collado Superior de Góriz. At this point we leave the GR 11 that descends to the Añisclo Canyon and take the milestones in a north-easterly direction that take us through the Faja de las Olas to the Collado de Añisclo, where we also find an area of chains that help us in our progression. To avoid this technical step we can descend to the Fuen Blanca, and then ascend the Collado de Añisclo. We carefully descend the long and demanding descent from the Collado de Añisclo to the Mountain Hut.
From Pineta Mountain Hut to Espuguettes Mountain Hut. From Pineta we follow the National Park signs to the Balcón de Pineta and Lago de Marboré. We continue skirting the lake on the right towards the Tucarroya Gap and Mountain Hut. We climb up to the gap and from here we descend along a steep sloping channel with a lot of loose rocks that requires us to descend with caution. If there is snow, the difficulty increases and it is essential to use ice axes and crampons. There is also an alternative variant via Puerto Nuevo de Pineta that avoids this technical pass. Once we descend from the Rolando Gap we head towards the Horquette d'Alans along an uphill path. Descend to the Espuguettes Mountain Hut where we will enjoy unbeatable views.
From the Espuguettes hut to the Bujaruelo hut. Leave the Espuguettes Mountain Hut in the direction of Gavarnie. After a steep descent you will see a signpost indicating the path to the Cirque de Gavarnie to the left. Follow this beautiful forest path that will take you very close to the base of the imposing Cirque. From the Hotellerie du Cirque walk in the direction of Gavarnie along the main track until you reach a bridge that connects with a path on the left that goes to the Cabanne de Pouey d'Aspé. We go up the valley of the same name towards the Cabanne de Soldats and the Port de Boucharo (Bujaruelo pass). From the pass take the obvious path down to the Bujaruelo Mountain Hut (red and white GR 11 markings).

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
