Whenever somebody thinks about skiing in the French Alps, they usually conjure images of beautiful snow capped peaks, fancy chalets and amazing slopes. Well, in the case of Megeve, that is exactly what you get. This luxurious ski resort is the cream of the crop when it comes to ski resorts in the Alps. In fact, over the last century, Megeve has always been at the forefront of the best ski resorts in all of Europe.
There are over 400 kilometres of skiable terrain in Megeve. While the skiing itself in Megeve is nothing short of spectacular, the surrounding landscape only further sets it apart from other resorts. You will get to stare in awe from a perfect location at some the Alps‘ most amazing peaks. They include the Aiguille des Glaciers (3,816m), the Grandes Jorasses (4,208m), the Pointe Percee (2,753m), and of course, the incomparable Mont Blanc (4,810m).
During this ski touring day trip, I’ll take you to some of my favorite spots around the resort. I will adapt the itinerary to your skiing and fitness level: we could ski the terrain at the edge of the pistes if you are beginner or in the mountains if you already have some experience. Don’t hesitate to let me know what your wishes are for our day together.
Please note that we will be skinning up to these spots, so you will need touring equipment (touring skis, touring bindings, touring boots, skins and avalanche equipment). You can rent the equipment at Megeve if you need to.
There is nowhere in the Alps quite like Megeve. And for an entire day, I not only want to help you enjoy the slopes, but to enjoy the whole area around the resort as well. All you have to do is send me a request.
I can also guide you for a day of off-piste skiing lessons in Megeve. If you don’t wish to skin up and would rather use the lifts to enjoy some sidecountry skiing, this is the right option for you.

Mountain Guide
I'm an IFMGA-certified mountain guide member of the SNGM (Syndicat National des Guides de Montagne).
I live in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, the world capital of alpinism & ski. I have been guiding here for many years, during the summer and the winter. I also guide a lot during the winter in Megève. I have extended knowledge and expertise about the backcountry skiing area there. I also have a great passion for rock climbing which I do a lot in the South of France (Les Calanques de Marseille), all year round.

First of all, I want to say that we were guided only one day by Stephane Combe. I have been ski touring for more than 20 years and never without a guide. What I like about the process is the proximity to calm nature, the sporty aspect and the adrenaline that comes with it from time to time. My best outings were those where trust with my guide was total. I rarely do reviews on sites but it seems important to me today to do so as the experience with Stephane Combe was unpleasant. As a customer, I did not feel listened to. To make him agree to propose a program different from the one he wanted to do personally was energy-intensive. Then he chose a blown descent to the west to descend at noon. Obviously the snow was not transformed. We arrived downstairs at 1.30pm to be told the day was over. He apparently wasn't there to work full days. In 20 years of experience, I have never seen such a selfish, egocentric, self-centered guide, swearing at anything he doesn't like. A very unpleasant character that I do not advise anyone to meet.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
