8-day Lyngen Alps ski touring and sailing tour

Join me for this fantastic 8-day ski touring and sailing trip in the fjords of the Lyngen Alps, in Norway.

Every day will begin at the base of the mountain where we'll ski during the day. You will put on your skis after leaving the ship and remove them only when they touch water again!

During a week, we can take 6 routes in any of these variations:

• Return: we take off at the beach, and after ascending and descending different routes we go back to the starting point.

• Lokon: we take off at the beach, ascend a mountain but descend to a different beach, although in the same side of the sea or river.

• Traverse: this is what we'll do in Uloya island. We take off on the east part of the island, we ascend to the highest mountain and then descend but through the south part of the island.

We will decide which route to take every day, according to weather, snow and wind conditions. In addition, as snow does not change throughout the day, it is not necessary to disembark so early in the morning.

After a good breakfast, we leave the ship to enjoy vertical drops between 800 and 1200 meters.

The best season to go on this adventure is from the end of February till early May. At the end of February and March there is powder snow, in April and beginning of May we find powder/spring snow.

As regards the spots we are going to visit, here are some of them:

• Mountains in the Tromso region: Nordfjellet (1000m), Rema 1000 (Soltindan) and Ullstinden (1078m).

• Mountains in the Lyngen Alps: Nordmannviktinden N. Summit (1335m), Uloya (1139m), Kjelvagtinden (1064m), Storehaugen (1142m), Blaatinden (1142m), Sorbmegaisa (1288m), Kagtinden (1228m).

Our home during these days will be a nice yacht named 'Southern Star'. Please find more details about the itinerary at the end of this description. This ski touring and sailing trip can be run for a group of 8 participants.
