Le Gedre canyoning, close to Gavarnie (Pyrenees)

Join me for a fun and exciting half day canyoning at Le Gedre, near Gavarnie, in the stunning French Pyrenees. It will be a fun and exciting adventure, perfect for groups!

After getting equipped with neoprene suits and safety equipment, we will walk 5 minutes to get to the riverbed. We then enter the clear waters of Le Gedre where we start with an easy walk with small jumps, to get used to the environment.

You will quickly experience your first 4 meters jump! But note that jumps in this itinerary are never mandatory, there is always an easier way to go around as well.

After a ladder and a mini toboggan, we reach a key passage: there are many jumps, and it is possible to repeat them. From 4 to 10 meters jumps, this section is full of adrenaline.

Then we continue down the stream, alternating walking, swimming and progressing in the chaos of blocks. A beautiful 6 meters obstacle follows. We can overcome it with a jump or a slide.

It will also be possible (and optional) to try abseiling!

Finally, we will progress to reach the way back to the parking. In 10 minutes, we return to the vehicles. You are only 15 minutes away from the famous Cirque de Gavarnie, and also nearby the Coumely via ferrata. Two fantastic options to complete your day!

It is a perfect activity to do with friends or family. Children from 6 years old can join. Each obstacle can be overcome in many ways. From the easy option for children to the “hard way” for the most adventurous. The translucent waters of Le Gedre will delight everyone.
