Las Peinetas rock climbing day, Chile

If you are looking for a challenging adventure, join me in this rock climbing program in Las Peinetas! It’s suitable for all levels! Come and practice alpine climbing in this amazing granite mass in an untouched area in the south of Chile.

Las Peinetas (“the combs”) is surrounded by beautiful araucaria trees forest. It’s only 70 kilometres from Pucon, on the border between Argentina and Chile.

I will guide you along this exciting day program. It’s physically demanding, so you should be in excellent physical condition, with previous climbing and trekking experience. And if you are a beginner, you must receive a previous half day climbing training near Pucon.

Also, this high performance activity requires a positive mental attitude as well as resilience to face the challenges.

Las Peinetas (2000 m) has multiple summits, and a 400 meter face. So, we will be able to chose among two different routes, depending on your level. You can complete the program in one day, in 18 hours. Or either do it in 2 days, camping overnight, with a longer trekking route.

It will be a very long day, we will trek for 6 hours in total: 3 hours up and 3 hours down. We will complete in total 10 hours of 5.8 climbing, 5 or 6 pitches.

Along our trek, we will walk into the magical araucaria forest. Besides, we will have a stunning panoramic view. We will see both the Chilean and Argentine sides of the Andes range! Also, the sight of the Lanín, Villarica and Llaima volcanoes, and the Tromen Lake.

Besides, the vegetation around the area involves a certain amount of bushwhacking. That makes it a special and different experience from traditional rock climbing! Additionally, if we are lucky enough, we will get to see typical fauna of the area, like cóndor or foxes.
