The Lanin volcano (3,776m) is one of the highest volcanoes in North Patagonia, Argentina. It is also part of the famous ring of fire.
There is so much to admire about the Lanin volcano. From its snow covered cone, to its magnificent shape. It appears on the Neuquen provincial flag and you can hear its name in the province's anthem. It is a true symbol of the province. And because of those accolades, people come from all over to climb it.
But the climb is challenging. You will be trekking through snow and rocky terrain. And while the climb is not only reserved just for experts, some skill and good fitness is a must. As a result, we will spend time before the ascent practising the skills you will need to make the climb. Those skills include mountaineering and safety techniques. However, once you reach the top of this incredible volcano, the viewpoint will leave you breathless. You will get to see the Villarrica volcano, Quetrupillan, Lonquimay, Lake Tromen Huechulafquen, Paimum and many other peaks.
It would be my pleasure guiding you on this 4 day excursion. The Lanin volcano is a truly beautiful peak. And I know after reaching the summit, you will certainly agree. After all, there is a reason why the national park where it is located bears its name. So please, send me a message if you want to join me on this adventure.
I would also like to extend an invitation to guide you on another incredible adventure. I want to take you to the summit of the highest mountain in the Americas, the legendary Aconcagua peak in Mendoza, Argentina.
You will arrive at the San Martin de los Andes airport, where you will be met and transported to your lodging for the night, and will get to enjoy a welcome dinner.
After breakfast we will take a private transport to the Rio Turbio ranger station. From there we will hike for approximately 4 hours until we reach the campsite area. For the remainder of the afternoon we will practice mountaineering and safety techniques to prepare for the climb ahead. We will stay in a mountain hut for the night.
Early in the morning we will start our hike to the summit. We should reach the summit by the afternoon. Once there you will get to enjoy lunch and the incredible views. Afterwards, we will make our way back down, and take a private transport back to San Martin de los Andes. You will be staying in a cabin at San Martin de los Andes for the night.
After breakfast you will take a private transport to the airport where you will catch your flight home.
Mountain Guide
Mountain Guide - EPGAMT - Argentina
I was born in Patagonia, Argentina and formed at an early age as a climber in the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Currently I completed a large number of rock and ice climbing routes, backcountry skiing and ascents in many mountains around the world such as Mt. Lhotse (8.516 mts.), the 4th highest peak in the world, without using supplemental oxygen (May, 2012).
I'm a certified Mountain Guide from the EPGAMT and a member of the Argentinian Mountain Guides Association (AAGM) and work on Mt. Aconcagua, which I had repeatedly ascended, as well as in other peaks in the Central Andes, Patagonia, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and in The Himalayas in Nepal.
During the winter season, I practice backcountry skiing, mostly on the volcanoes in Patagonia, where I can offer you different adventures, according to your level (beginner, learner or advanced learner).
I feel very privileged to work as a mountain guide, to do the job that I love, and to be able to share it with people that have the same passion.
Join my expeditions and I will provide you a high standard of safety and personal attention!

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
