Description

The Laguna del Caminante trail is one of the classic trekking routes in Ushuaia. Come to this 3-day traverse in Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost of the provinces of Argentina.

Laguna del Caminante is located inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park near Ushuaia, the capital city of the province. This area offers outstanding views of the surrounding mountains as well as a wide variety of native flora and fauna. Here I share a sample itinerary of our program:

Day 1

We’ll start our trip at 9 am in Ushuaia. We’ll explore the Andorra Valley and go to the Laguna del Caminante, where we’ll set up our camp and spend the night.

Day 2

After breakfast, we’ll go to the Superior Valley and start an ascent to one of the mounts of the area. Falso Tonelli peak (1,140 m) is one of the options for this ascent. Then, we’ll have lunch and return to the camping site.

Day 3

On this day, we’ll go to the Oveja Pass and have lunch. We’ll descend through the Oveja canyon and return to the city of Ushuaia at 6.30 pm.

Remember that it is very important to have a good physical condition to join this program.

Send your request and be a part of this hiking traverse in Tierra del Fuego. Enjoy the incredible Patagonian forest and the Laguna del Caminante along with a local certified guide.

Gabriel was a terrific guide for Cinco Hermanos, which provides amazing views of Ushuaia and the surrounding mountain ridges and valleys. After a pleasant trail through the forest, you cross the main creek and ascend the benches below the peaks. After that we enjoyed terrific alpine climbing with steep snow, sometimes greater than 50 degrees. Route finding was a bit challenging, and the selection of the right gulley can greatly determine which hermano you are climbing. We ultimately summitted Hermano Cinco. Ghanks to Gabriel for sharing so much information about the mountains and culture of the region.
