The Babash Ata mountains belong to the Tian Shan range and are located in Kyrgyzstan, near Arslanbob. They are a top spot for remote ski touring and also home to charming local villages. On this 8-day adventure, we will explore the vibrant wilderness of these mountains and the typical traditions and cuisine of their people.
We will set off from Osh, and drive in a 4Ă4 minibus that will be available for the whole adventure to Arslanbob. From there, we will set off each day to a different location, enjoying stunning landscapes, exploring walnut plantations, stopping for tea at remote mountain villages and, of course, skiing some top slopes. You can find a detailed itinerary below.
Please keep in mind, that you need to have prior ski touring experience to join this adventure. We will tackle slopes that may include a few short steep passages (up to 40 degrees) and you will need to have a mastery of conversions. Furthermore, a good fitness level is also a must as we will face positive elevations of between 600m and 1200m per day. Of course, we will be there to help and guide you at all times.

Transfer to the hotel to rest until noon. The French guide will check your equipment and give a briefing on the coming week! After lunch, transfer to Arslanbob by minibus, dinner at a local restaurant en route. In the center of the charming village of Arslanbob, we will take 4x4s to reach our accommodation with a dinner stop in a typical cafĂ©. Letâs go for a good nightâs sleep with the locals to be as fresh as the next day!

After the safety tests and gear adjustments, hike on the first ridges behind the village to get up and see the possibilities of the week. We are at the foot of the magnificent Babash Ata chain with its eponymous peak peaking at 4427m.
Meal in the restaurant in the village center. Superb local address, very good soups and kebabs. Return home for a relaxation and shower session. Dinner with the locals.

Hike through the walnut plantations to get beautiful slopes on the first ridges behind the village. Lunch at the village restaurant, we take the time to wander, we do like the locals: we drink tea watching the time go by ⊠itâs good to live there anyway! Same story after the session of the day, relaxation and dinner on the program for tonight.

We leave on one of the other slopes to seek a point of view that we would not have explored. Cows, donkeys, sometimes block our way.

We leave early in the morning for a rustic but cozy alpine chalet for the next 2 days!
Perched at 2000m, a local team takes care of the logistics, cooking, sleeping arrangements. Absolutely unique setting !! Hike to the summit or surrounding pass. Back to the âcampsâ where we will have free time to redo the world (once more), meal and night. This night in camp can be moved in the program depending on the weather conditions at the time.

If conditions allow, there is now an opportunity to climb to the Surok peak (marmot in French) at 2500m. Descent to Arslanbob for showering and relaxation. After a good lunch, departure for Osh, a city known for its silk production. We take advantage of the afternoon to take a last beautiful dip in the Kyrghyz culture, with en route, the visit of the Ouzghen minaret and Osh, if we have time, an excursion to the sacred mountain of Suleiman. The latter emerges from the ground and dominates the city ⊠Meals and overnight in Osh.
