Just half an hour outside Las Vegas lies the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, a park that features breathtaking desert landscapes and many popular hiking trails.
On this 2.2 mile hike you can enjoy many gorgeous views. At the highest point you can see Turtlehead Peak, the Calico Hills, La Madre Mountains and White Rock Mountain. No scrambling is required on this hike, but be prepared for about 400 feet of elevation gain.
Along with the aforementioned mountain views, the highlight of this excursion is admiring the Keystone Thrust, a geological fault with two exposed tectonic plates. You can actually see how the red sandstone and gray limestone have smashed together to form new mountains. It’s very interesting to witness for geologists and non-geologists alike.
Complete this hike to discover the awe-inspiring beauty and serenity of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
