Jostedalsbreen 5-day glacier course, mountaineering

On this course, we’ll teach you how to use crampons, an ice axe, rope as well as all the necessary safety techniques to consider while hiking on glaciers. Additionally, we’ll also review important topics such as tour planning, meteorology, maps and compass, and how to assess alpine dangers. After this course, you’ll be able to hike on glaciers by yourself and discover new areas.

Even though we’ll be reviewing basic mountaineering concepts, we recommend this trip to participants with some experience in the mountains. It is also important for participants to be in a good physical shape and be at least 17 years old.
