Welcome to this initiation mountaineering course in Uspallata, province of Mendoza!
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to venture into the mountaineering and trekking worlds. And the good news is that you won’t need previous experience to be part of this course.
The main objective of this 3-day learning experience will be that you can perform safely on rough terrain, whether on a trekking expedition or on high mountain climbs.
During the mountaineering course we will also make an ascent to a mountain in the area. In addition you’ll put into practice some orientation techniques and the team will work with ropes and basic knots. Another key focus will be on teaching you possible pathologies produced by height as well as the adequate clothing, feeding and hydration in the mountains and risk management.

- The price does not include: meals in the city of Mendoza and during transfers, clothing and personal equipment, expenses incurred by possible abandonment of expedition of by rescue and evacuation, meals out of the detailed itinerary, porters and transfer from Mendoza city to Uspallata.
Itinerary
Day 1: Uspallata - San Alberto
Camp and theoretical lessons: feeding, hydration, orientation and basic knots. Acclimatization trek around the camping site.
Day 2: Mountain climb
Early in the morning we will ascend to a hill in the area and return to the base camp for some orientation practices.
Day 3: San Alberto - Uspallata
In the morning and after breakfast, we will carry out some risk management practices, such as assembling a gurney and evacuating a victim in case of rescue. Then, we’ll disarm camp and return to Uspallata.
