Description

For 2 exciting days, we would like to guide you on a 2 day introductory level, back country skiing course in Fernie, British Columbia.

Located in the tremendous Rocky Mountains, Fernie is home not only great skiing spots, but also incredible views of the western Canadian landscape.

Each day of this course will teach you something new. Moreover, you will learn by doing, as you will get to practice many of the lessons immediately after learning them on the slopes. Thus ensuring that you get a great feel for what you have just been taught.

Much will be covered over the 2 days of this trip. Examples of what you will learn include avalanche safety, equipment use, maintenance of your equipment and trouble shooting strategies. You will also learn about track setting and how to travel in mountain snow efficiently. And, of course, you will do a great deal of fun skiing on the slopes of Fernie.

In order to participate on this trip, you should have prior resort skiing experience. You should also be in good physical condition.

Fernie is definitely one of the best skiing places in British Columbia. And for 2 days, we would like teach you how to properly and safely the beautiful area’s vast back country. To join us just send a message. We look forward to guiding you.

Participants should bring the following items with them: wool or synthetic socks, Base Layer Top, Base Layer Bottoms, Fleece or synthetic jacket, Light wind shell, weather layer top, weather layer pants, warm outer jacket, toque, brimmed cap, face warmer, light gloves, insulated gloves, gaiters, boots, poles, skins, shovel, probe, avalanche transceiver, 30-40 liter pack, sunglasses, goggles, sun and lip cream, head lamp, extra clothing, sleeping bag and pad, thermos, lunch, blister kit, pocket knife, camera and binoculars.
