Description

Rising out of the rocky northwest of the United States, surrounded by iconic Montana mountains, is the Kila Crags.

The large cliffs here offer excellent opportunities to first get to grips with sport climbing.

There is a huge collection of around 50 sport climbing routes lined with bolts and anchors fixed to the rock.

Learn the fundamentals of sport climbing. Know how to clip bolts and belay, and practise lead climbing while being attached to a top rope for protection.

Kila Crags is located just 15 minutes away from the town of Kalispell, a small urban area that is nestled in the Flathead valley.

Surrounded by national parks and mountain resorts, Kalispell is the ideal springboard to explore the wilderness.

Flathead Valley is perfumed with smells of peppermint and spearmint floating from one of the last mint farms in Montana.

The south facing shale cliffs open up towards the sun, receiving a lot of sunlight.

As you reach the summit stunning panoramas open up to you. Green meadows and snow-capped peaks dominate the skyline.

Riding the warm air currents are turkey vultures that swoop above, along with sandhill cranes crooning in the distance.

Potential participants must have some previous climbing experience in order to join this course.
