Tucked away in the far north west of the United States lies the breathtaking Mount Hood National Forest in the state of Oregon, close to the city of Portland.
Running south of the Columbia River Gorge, the national forest extends for more than 60 miles. Stunning lakes and trickling streams, forest-carpeted mountains and dormant volcanoes flurried with snow.
Learn the proper use of communications gear, how to handle emergencies, review avalanche basics, how to properly carry skis, select the right terrain, and conduct beacon checks.
And know how to develop route plans and suitable alternative objectives, what to pack in a backcountry repair kit, and fundamentally, how to ski in variable weather and snow conditions.
Our action-packed course, which should last for approximately 6 hours, will be instructed in the northeastern section of the Mount Hood National Forest.
