Description

Are you ready for an incredible adventure? Join me for this trip and discover why Rjukan, a southern city of Norway, is one of the best places in the world for ice climbing.

Rjukan is a village 175 km away from Oslo and 370 km from Bergen. It’s in a deep valley where you can find more than 150 waterfalls.

Besides being a top ice climbing destination, this area also has the first artificial wall for ice climbing in Europe.

The winter season goes from November to April.

I organize ice climbing trips for beginners as well as for more experienced climbers. We’ll be climbing classical routes in this area, according to your level. Because of the diversity and large number of waterfalls, this region offers plenty of challenges!

We can go there for 2 or more days, between 5 and 10 hours each day.

In addition, I offer ice climbing courses for those who want to make their first steps in this amazing sport.

Another interesting thing to do in Rjunkan is visiting the charming town in the valley and enjoy the wild nature and beautiful peaks that surround it. There’s also an interesting historical museum you can visit.

Please contact me if you want to go ice climbing in this Norwegian paradise! I will be glad to organize a trip that suits your wishes.

Mountain Guide

I am a fully certified IFMGA guide since 2012. I have, however, mastered my climbing and skiing skills for many years before taking up guiding. I have participated in numerous climbing expeditions not only to the wild mountains of Caucasus (which I have gotten to know pretty well), but also to Nepal, Alps and have extensively climbed in many Norwegian areas. In recent years I have been resident in Norway, and I co-operate with my friends at Lyngen Outdoor Center as their chief mountain guide.

I went ice climbing with Pawel in Rjukan. I had an awesome time and I learned a lot. Pawel is both a highly skilled climber and guide (IFMGA). His instruction was clear and very helpful. He knows the area well and ensured we were first on site and didn't have to wait at the crag. He is cheerful and easy to get along with. Could not ask for more. I'll definitely look him up next timing climbing in Norway.
