This 5-day ice climbing course in Wye Creek, Queenstown, in New Zealand’s southern island will turn you into an accomplished ice climber in no time.
First, we’ll take a helicopter to access the ice climbing area in Wye Creek. It is indeed the best spot in the country! Then, we will focus on developing lead climbing skills. By the end of the course, you will be familiar with all current ice climbing techniques.
You won’t believe your eyes once the helicopter lands. You will find yourself surrounded by ice flows of every shape and size that drape over cliffs. We’ll find a multitude of climbs for every level.

– Ice tools and crampons for ice climbing

Helicopter access At the beginning of the course we take a helicopter directly from Queenstown airport into Wye Creek. At the end of the week we hike down the valley where we can unwind as we descend through the pristine alpine scenery of the Wye Valley.
