The Cascata Sentiero dei Troll is a classic ice climbing venue in Valnontey, in the Cogne Valley. If you already have ice climbing experience, join me on this 1-day trip and enjoy a full day of climbing in a beautiful mountain scenery.
Valnontey is a small village in Cogne, in the Aosta Valley. Also, it's located within the Gran Paradiso National Park. The Cogne Valley is regarded by many as the best ice climbing venue in Italy. It offers a wide variety of ice and mixed routes, for all levels .
The Sentiero dei Troll Icefall difficulty level is graded as D + (IV / 3.3 +). It will take us less than an hour to reach it from the parking lot.
If you want to join me on this ice climbing day, you need previous easy mountaineering experiences. Besides, you need experience in the use of crampons and on easier level icefalls, like the Cascate di Lillaz. By the way, you can take a look at my guided ice climbing for beginners there. Also, please note you need to be in good physical shape.
So contact me if you want to join me on this ice climbing trip in the Sendiero dei Troll icefall. I will be happy to take you there to enjoy a great ice climbing day.
I also offer a 1-day ice climbing trip to the Cascate di Patri, also in Valnontey. You can check it out!

Mountain Guide
Born in Aosta in 1970, I am an aspirant mountain guide and a passionate climber. For me, the lightning strike came in while climbing Punta Tzan with some friends: from that day on, my whole life has been the mountains and practicing mountain sports and activities.
Among my most significant ascents are: Mattehorn, Mont Blanc du Tacul, Aiguille Verte, Monviso and Mont Maudit, among others. I will be happy to guide you around my home region!

Everything was perfect. We had to bring forward the trip due to weather conditions and Remy was very flexible. He made us feel comfortable along the climb and everything went very easily although it was only our second 4000 ascension. He's a very nice and pleasant person. I highly recommend him!

Remy was a superb guide, would really recommend him! Warm and friendly personality. Very professional and knowledgeable, made us (beginners) feel comfortable during the trip. We had a lot of questions beforehand, all communication was clear, fast responses and Remy was always available by mail or phone. Also fast response by Explore-Share. The Gran Paradiso was amazing, especially the views, climb tough but very doable. Next time I would go skiing down instead of hiking.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
