Hiking to the summit of Kilimanjaro in 6 days via the Machame route

Also known as the Whiskey Route, the Machame Route that will take you to the summit of Kilimanjaro (5,895m) in Tanzania is as challenging as it is rewarding.

A great contrast to the easier Marangu Route, which is also known as the Coca Cola Route, the Machame Route is much steeper and longer. Moreover, instead of comfortable huts, participants on this trip, which will last for 6 days, will be sleeping in tents, under the stars. However, if challenge, adventure and roughing it are what you desire in your climb of Kilimanjaro, then this route will be ideal.

Our journey will begin at the Machame Gate, which is positioned at the southern base of the peak, within the surrounding vibrant rain forest. From there, we will make our way through the Shira Plateau before making our way up the peak. Throughout the ascent, you will be astounded by the views, which reach their apex at the summit. After you’ve soaked in the glory of the summit, we will make our descent along the Mweka Trail.

Due to the challenging nature of the Machame Route, participants should be in good physical condition. Also, prior climbing experience is recommended as well.
