Hike to the iconic ‘nose’ of Mount Mansfield from Stowe, Vermont and get the satisfaction of summiting Vermont’s tallest mountain while enjoying spectacular views along the way!
At 1.313 meters tall, from the nose, you will have excellent views back into Stowe as well as the surrounding valleys. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Washington in New Hampshire and Mount Marcy in New York.
On the day of our hike, we will meet up at the trailhead before following the Haselton Trail to the iconic nose. The round trip is about 7.4 kilometers and involves an elevation gain of 760 meters.
While the distance is not very long, the hiking can be challenging and the trail is rated as ‘difficult’ by Vermont State Parks.
With incredible views of Lake Champlain and landmarks from two other states, reaching the summit is reward enough for the effort of getting there, which requires no technical climbing skills.
Be sure to pack lunch, sunscreen, bug spray and rainwear prior to arriving at the starting point. Weather can change quickly toward the top, so it is also best to bring an extra layer, even in the summer.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for a challenging and rewarding day of hiking to the ‘nose’ of Mount Mansfield in Stowe, Vermont!
