Visiting the Dominican Republic? We are here to make your trip unforgettable! Follow us on a hiking day to the wonderful Cachote in the Sierra de Bahoruco National Park. We’ll take you to explore the beautiful cloud forest, coffee plantations and more. You don’t want to miss this!

This wonderful day begins with a hike up to the Cachote lookout spot at an altitude of 1,300 m. The path will take us through the coffee, cacao and tropical fruit plantations of the Bahoruco mountains. Once we reach the lookout point, we’ll enjoy stunning views of the Nizaito river, the Paraíso beaches, the Polo mountains, forests, coffee plantations, and farmlands.

The top of the mountain is located deep in the cloud forest, where several endemic birds live. As we walk through it, we’ll make sure to teach you all about the plants we find there and their uses. For example, some of them are used in Haitian voodoo ceremonies. Then, we’ll go down to the Cachote village, where we’ll have lunch with the locals. We’ll also go with them to see the different orange, coconut, and mango plantations.
