Giewont peak (1894 m), is one of the most picturesque peaks of the Northern High Tatras. This prominent rocky massif rises high above Zakopane, offering the best view from this town. Locals call it “the knight” of Poland.
Giewont is the most distinctive peak in the area and a symbolic mountain in Poland, with a special place in the Polish identity. The mountain offers amazing panorama views from the summit,in all directions, and it is one of the most popular hiking tours in the country.
We will start in Zakopane, and from there we will transfer by local bus to Kuznice (1025m)– the starting point of our hike. From there, we will walk into tge Kondratowa valley around the mountain hut to the Kondracka saddle (1725m). From that point we will start slowly hiking up to the summit of Giewont (1895m).
On the way up and down there is a section with chains for the security of tourists climbing to the top. Once we reach the summit, we can desced down by the same way or through the Strazyska valley until Zakopane.
The trip will take us in total from 7 to 9 hours. If you need any help with assurance on the chain section, I will be there to help you.
Just send me a request if you want to join me on this day hike. Come discover the wonderful views from the top of Giewont!

Mountain Leader
I'm a UIMLA mountain leader and national tourist guide (for cultural and historical heritage trips).
I was born in Poprad in 1969. From my early childhood, I often looked out my bedroom window into the distance of the picturesque High Tatras, which fascinated me even then. In high school I started going with my friends to a small climbing "expedition" on the surrounding rocks, and later to the High Tatras. Mostly I went with a friend whose father was a member of the Mountain Rescue Service. During my studies at Comenius University in Bratislava, I loved coming back to the mountains.
In 1999 I started actively volunteering paramedic of the Tatra Mountain Rescue Service, and then I was hired there.
Precisely because of my relationship with the mountains I began working as a tourist guide with a focus on mountain areas.
Since 1998 I accompany tourists from around the world to the mountains and surrounding towns.
In 2011 I got certified as mountain leader.
Besides, I have been working as a member of the Council of the Slovak Association of mountain Leaders since it was established in 2011.
