On this exciting hiking adventure, I will take you into the wild Beskids, just an hour's drive away from Krakow.
Despite the close proximity to the city, the Beskids are a nature haven with beautiful Carpathian forests to explore, and stunning views of the Tatras and other nearby mountain ranges. The lovely Beskids are uncrowded and unique due to their topography. They are often referred to as "islands" because the peaks are surrounded by deep valleys, and in the winter when there is temperature inversion and the fog and clouds cover the valleys, the peaks stand out spotting the whole landscape.
You can join this trek year-round and choose to extend it for more days. If you choose this option, depending on the route we choose to take, we can spend the night in a mountain hut or tent. The 1-day itinerary involves a 12km (5-6 hour) and an elevation gain of up to 700 m, therefore, a good fitness level is a must.

What is the average distance and altitude gain that we will hike each day?
We will hike approx 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during that trip.
What experience do I need to have? How fit do I need to be? Is this program suitable for children or older people?
No prior experience is required. Note, that during one day we will gain approx 700 m of elevation, hence good fitness level is required. The program may be suitable for children and older people under the condition that they are able to make approx 15 km with 700 m of ascent and descent during that trip.
How can I get to the trailhead/meeting point?
We meet at an agreed meeting point in Krakow and will be traveling to the trailhead via my private car.
How will accommodation and meals be handled during the trek?
This is one day trip hence no need for accommodation. We will stop at the mountain hut on our way back, hence it will be possible to buy a meal. It is recommended though to have some extra calories (snacks) and water during the trip.
Are there any other special requirements such as permits/insurance/vaccines that I need to consider before the tour?
No, there are no special requirements for this trip.
What is the best time of the year for this hike?
The best time for this hike is starting from end-April till end-October.
Can I join a group?
No, I'm offering private hikes only.
What happens in the event of bad weather?
I will be offering an alternative program in Beskidy. Another option is to cancel the trip.
What equipment will I need?
In general, you will need a backpack, good hiking shoes, a first aid kit with your medicines, a warm clothing layer, sun protection, wind and rain protective clothes, a headtorch, and trekking poles. I will provide the detailed equipment list prior to the trip.

This trip exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Pawel was a fantastic guide, very experienced and had an incredible knowledge of the geological features of the Gorce mountains and surrounding mountain ranges as well as the historical aspects of Polish history. As beginners to snowshoeing, Pawel was understanding and knowledgeable of the most suitable routes to take. In addition, at the beginning of the trip we presented Pawel with a problem which he resolved with empathy like a true gentleman. For that we were truly thankful. The whole trip was incredible. Memories created that we will never forget. Thank you so much!
