Hiking of Bariloche’s Lakes: Azul, Creton and Ilon

Bariloche and its waters give us unbelievable trails and landscapes to enjoy the best mountain activities. Laguna Azul, Creton and Ilon are some of them.

So that I am inviting you to this 4-day trekking expedition among the perfect and most imposing lakes of Bariloche, in the Patagonia Argentina. For more details, here you have the full itinerary:

DAY 1: FOREST HIKE

The hike of the first day will take us about six hours. During the trail, we visit the Rio Manso which we will cross by a bridge, entering to a fantastic forest. It is known as “Bosque de Ñires” and its variety of animal, vegetation and rock species will make this trekking much more interesting. Finally, we reach to the beautiful Laguna Azul.

DAY 2: ASCENT DAY

Here we start the ascent. This trekking adventure will take us about 6 hours. We will hike up the slopes of the lake and once we advance some meters we will enjoy a magnificent viewpoint. When we reach to Laguna Creton a fresh water rain will welcome us.

DAY 3: HILLS AND MORE HILLS

We will continue hiking until we find the Cerro Punta Negra at 2.166 meters of height. After that, without going out of our way, we will find Cerro Tronador and Cerro Capitan, from whose edge we will enjoy a privileged sight of the famous Nahuel Huapi Lake. By the end of the day and after 5 or 6 hours of trekking we get to Laguna Ilon, the third lake of this adventure by the crystalline waters of Bariloche.

DAY 4: LAST DAY

In our fourth and last day, if weather conditions help, we can swim in Laguna Ilon, the warmest waters of the three lakes. After that, we will start the return by an irregular trail that turns into a flatter one after crossing the river. They are the final moments of this amazing trip around the best Bariloche waters.
