This 1-day hike and via ferrata to Boccalatte Hut in Val Ferret is a great choice for those of you looking for something more than just a walk up the mountain.

The Boccalatte Hut (2804 m) is one of the oldest mountain huts in Italy. It was first built in 1881 -originally named Grandes Jorasses refuge– and was renowned on different occasions during the 20th century. It remained closed for 7 years until it was reopened in 2016.

This beautiful building is located in a unique spot, right above the Grandes Jorassess glaciers in the . It is used as the starting point for several climbs of the Mont Blanc massif.

And one of our guides will take you up to this historic gem starting from Planpincieux village at 1578 meters. We’ll hike up at your pace, enjoying nature and the amazing surroundings. Then, as the hut is located on a vertical rock cliff above the glacier, for the last 100 meters we’ll climb through an easy via ferrata route.

The total walking time for the trip is from 6 to 8 hours with an altitude gain of 1224 meters.
