Hike to Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain

This one-day hike is an amazing adventure recommended to all outdoor lovers. We'll hike up to the 3,725-foot summit, and enjoy the incredible views of the whole Catskill range. Besides, we'll be able to explore the mountains' unique geology: it is believed to be the site of an ancient meteorite impact crater.

Make sure to bring a backpack with lunch and snacks, at least two liters of water, chapstick and sunscreen, hat, gloves and an extra pair of wool socks. I also recommend you bring a thermos of hot soup, tea, or coffee. You should wear weather-appropriate and comfortable clothing, waterproof hiking boots, and ski or snowboarding gear, including a warm, waterproof jacket. Also, have ready dry clothes and shoes for the ride home. Trekking or ski poles are recommended and you are welcomed to bring a camera. Depending on the trail and weather conditions, snowshoes may be needed.
