Join us on the famous Hermit Loop of the Grand Canyon, from Bright Angel Trail to the Indian Garden. The passing views along the way are punctuated by minor hikes along narrow canyons to impressive river rapids.
Explore the majestic creek camps and ancient fossils, and witness the wonderful desert wildlife as we enjoy some of the best hiking in the Grand Canyon.
This is one of the most scenic hikes the Grand Canyon has to offer, which mixes tremendous natural beauty with cultural diversity.
We start with a 5-mile downhill hike on the Bright Angel Trail towards the beautiful spring site of Indian Garden. Here we will relax in the shade of the Cottonwood trees, cool off in the icy spring waters, and take in the scenery with a picnic.
With the sun slipping behind the vast landscape of rock, we’ll settle in for a night’s camp a Horn Creek, a stunning location that offers a deep sense of solitude.
Travelling westwards towards Monument Creek on a flat, well-maintained 9-mile trail, expansive views emerge of the Grand Canyon, the inner gorge and the Colorado River.
Continuing westwards we’ll reach Hermit Rapids, where for a few hours we’ll explore this stunning section of the Colorado River, while in the evening witness the star-lit sky glow while we enjoy dinner.
Then begins our ascent out of the Grand Canyon on the Hermit Trail before a switchback offers us increasingly spectacular views of the Grand Canyon. Our final section is a lovely hike on hand-fitted rock slabs. This work of masonry art takes us past approximately 250-million-year-old footprint fossils.
Reserve your place now to experience the best of the Grand Canyon’s natural beauty and hike the Hermit Loop for some fascinating vistas.
