As local certified guides with vast experience in mountain tours in New York, we’re glad to invite you to this family-friendly hike in the Haystack Mountain, located near Ray Brook.
Usually confused with the High Peak Mt. Haystack (1512 m), this mountain offers a gentler trek and a really pleasant walk. With a total height of 872 meters, you will probably find only a steep section before reaching the top. Once up there, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking 180-degree view of the northern Adirondack region.
The round trip is 6,6 miles (9,6 km) long and is perfect for the whole family, couples or even if you are on your own. If you don’t have the proper gear (see the list below) we’d be happy to provide backpacks and trekking poles.
As this tour in the Haystack Mountain is available all year round we can plan the trip most Saturdays or weekdays through the winter and spring. As for the summer and fall seasons, you’ll need to book in advance.
Send your request now so we start organizing your next hiking tour in the amazing mountains of Adirondack. We’re sure you’ll love New York and its landscapes as much as we do.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
