Handies Peak, 1-day Winter ascent, starting from Vail

Located in the San Juan range within the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Handies Peak (4,285m) is the 41st highest peak in the state. It is a tremendous mountain and is also positioned near the town of Vail. And, for a full day, we would like to guide you to the summit of this magnificent peak.

One of the best parts of climbing Handies Peak is its incredible summit. Well known for its remoteness, from the top of the peak, you will not be able to see anything resembling civilization. Not a building, not even a sign can be a sign. Instead, all you will get to gaze upon is the endless, vast beauty of the peak’s natural surroundings. It will definitely take your breath away.

There are two commonly used trail heads that will take you to the stunning summit of Handies Peak. Those trail heads are the American Basin trail head and the Grizzly Gulch trail head. Each option offers its own unique experience, but they both will provide you with a memorable experience, full of fantastic views.

In order to participate on this trip, you should be in good physical condition. It is also advantageous if you have prior experience as well.
