The region of Killington, Vermont is a an underrated and gorgeous place nestled deep in New England, and I will guide you on this fun and adventurous half-day snowshoeing tour around the area, where we will get to experience the nice backcountry-feel of the trails without actually straying too far from the main slopes that are the focal point.
Located just 55 miles from the state capital of Montpelier, Killington has attracted many winter outdoor enthusiasts for years due to the ideal climate and the presence of the Killington Ski Resort, the largest area to ski in the East of the USA.
We meet in the morning in Killington, where all relevant gear and safety information is dispensed, before we head out snowshoeing straight away.
We will be following the traditional and Classic Killington Tour, one that involves us traipsing and travailing along hiking trails, mountain bike trails and ski home trails, winding our way up and down slopes and through idyllic forests.
The trail is approximately 2.5 miles long and is available to people all of levels of ability, as our expert guides will be on hand to help everyone with any problems they may encounter.
We finish back at the start point hopefully having whetted your appetite to discover more of this marvelous place.
