This half-day mountain biking tour I will lead you on entails some of the best countryside Colorado has to offer, as we explore and wind our away along some truly epic and astonishing backcountry trails and bask in the breathtaking scenery around us, all around the quaint and gorgeous town of Vail.
Vail is located a mere 100 miles from Denver in Colorado, and has long been known as an outdoor activity destination, both in Winter and Summer. It is home to the largest ski mountain in Colorado, and also hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, meaning there is rarely a time that there isn’t something to do here.
Beginning either in the morning or afternoon in the town of Vail itself, we then have a choice of numerous mountain biking trails within the Vail Valley such as Colorado Trail to Camp Hale, Vail Pass to Red Cliff, Colorado River Road and Red Sandstone area, each with their own unique characteristics.
The scenery on these trails is stunning, with vast forests and green valleys giving way to more challenging dirt and gravel tracks, as well as a myriad of creeks. There is even a famous World War 2 training site for the 10th mountain ski troops to visit, as well as the ex-mining community of Red Cliff.
Depending on your mountain biking ability we can go as relaxed or intense as you like, and our expert guides will always be there to help for any difficulties you may encounter.
We finish back in Vail having sampled the delights of the nearby countryside and hopefully invigorated your passion for mountain biking.
