Description

Spend a fun half day kayaking from Auckland city centre to Motukorea or Browns Island as it is also known. This island forms part of the Auckland Volcanic Field and is really well preserved.

On this trip, we’ll escape the city in our kayaks and paddle to the island. There is actually no road access, nor is there a ferry that goes there. So, a kayak is the perfect way to arrive.

When you reach the island, we’ll wander around and trek to the vibrant green summit of the volcano. This is a steep, narrow path that’ll give you a great workout.

Your guide will be able to fill you in on the history of the region and you’ll be able to visit the three ancient Pā (fortified villages) and learn more about Māori culture.

We’ll then have a quick snack before we get back in our kayaks and paddle back to Auckland.

This is a unique opportunity to experience a relatively untouched volcanic island close to the city. Book now to secure your spot.

For other kayaking tours close to Auckland, be sure to check out this one to Rangitoto Island, another volcanic spot.
